Germany’s Biesterfeld Spezialchemie (Hamburg; www.biesterfeld.com) has bought Norwegian distributor Lindberg & Lund (Oslo; www.lindberg-lund.com) for an undisclosed sum. Commenting on the deal, Biesterfeld CEO Thomas Arnold said, “This acquisition is in line with our goal of continuously expanding our geographic footprint.”
Lindberg & Lund imports, manufactures and distributes lubricants, construction adhesives, solvents, composite materials, castings and auxiliaries, “working with well-known manufacturers in long-lasting strategic partnerships.” It also has branches in Sweden and Finland, employing 50 people across a range of job functions, including application technology, sales, administration and warehousing.
“The range of products and services offered by the Lindberg & Lund Group perfectly complements our portfolio in the area of performance products,” said Peter Wilkes, managing director of Biesterfeld Spezialchemie. “Furthermore, this step will allow us to expand our strategic presence in Europe and to extend to Scandinavia and Finland.”
Biesterfeld announced earlier in August 2019 that it had obtained the exclusive distribution rights in Germany for the entire portfolio of French polyester specialist Polyprocess (Saint-Jean-d’Illac; www.polyprocess.fr) – see Plasteurope.com of 05.08.2019.
