Berlin Packaging (Chicago, Illinois / USA; www.berlinpackaging.com), a global full-service supplier of plastic, glass and metal containers and closures, has acquired Vincap & Adolfse (Utrecht / The Netherlands; www.vincap.com), a leading Dutch packaging supplier. The acquisition, which is Berlin Packaging’s tenth since 2010 and its fourth in Europe since 2016, adds extensive experience in food and beverage closures and pharmaceutical packaging to the US company’s range, along with well established operations in Northern Europe. The deal has closed, and integration of the new subsidiary’s activities is in planning, Berlin said.
With USD 2.6 bn in annual sales and more than 1,000 employees, Berlin Packaging now supplies packaging products and services across all major application sectors. The company has a broad base in North America, where it has operated since 1898, and a rapidly expanding global footprint that includes activities in China and South Africa as well as five European countries. In Europe, the company operates through its Bruni Glass division, headquartered in Milan / Italy and its Bruni Erben division, based in Hadleigh / UK.
Vincap & Adolfse, a major supplier of plastic, cork and metal closures in addition to plastic packaging, has been active in the Benelux region for more than 20 years, supplying products and packaging expertise to support established food and beverage brands across Northern Europe. The company’s operations will become part of the Bruni Glass organisation. Berlin said its customers will benefit from the Dutch company’s “deep expertise” in the closure market, with added product breadth in addition to expanded coverage across the Benelux region.
