Following a string of recent acquisitions – see Plasteurope.com of 20.09.2019 and 14.02.2019 – French PVC compounder Benvic Europe (Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur; www.benvic.com) has acquired Dugdale Compounds (Sowerby Bridge / UK; www.dugdalepvc.com).
Dugdale is the largest independent PVC compounder in the UK, notes Benvic. The UK company generated sales of GBP 36m (almost EUR 41m) in 2018 and has 125 employees. Last year, Dugdale sold around 26,000 t of PVC compounds for sectors such as construction, leisure, health care, electronics and transport.
Around GBP 3m has been invested in the years since the management buyout in 2014, according to Dugdale CEO David Outen. Among other things, the UK compounder installed in a new laboratory, a pilot line, new silos and mixers. Post-takeover, Outen and two other members of the management, head of R&D Jeff Ryan and finance director Darren Rowell, will remain in their respective positions.
